ABOUT THE LAD

Neil Bedford is a British photographer renowned for his distinctive portraiture across fashion, music, sport, and advertising. Born on 13 December 1981 in Bradford, England, he pursued photography at the London College of Fashion, earning a First Class Honours BA in fashion photography and a Distinction in his MA.

Bedford's career gained momentum in 2011 when he became the official photographer for the band Kasabian, a role he secured after meeting them on the set of their "Switchblade Smiles" music video. He documented their performances and backstage moments, culminating in the 2016 limited-edition book UNDERDOGS, which captured their celebratory shows at Leicester City's King Power Stadium following the football club's Premier League victory.

His portfolio includes portraits of prominent figures such as Willem Dafoe, Pharrell Williams, Liam Gallagher, Kobe Bryant, Ed Sheeran, Lionel Messi, and David Beckham. Bedford's work has been featured in publications like KinfolkBritish GQ, and Clash Magazine, and he has collaborated with brands including C.P. Company, New Era, Adidas, Nike and Rapha.

In 2025, Bedford introduced the project ERROR, where he created intentionally flawed football shirts—mixing incorrect colours, teams, and player names—to challenge notions of perfection and provoke reactions among football fans.

Currently represented by the London-based agency Making Pictures, Bedford divides his time between London and North Yorkshire.  His approach to photography emphasises meticulous planning and research, aiming to capture authentic moments that resonate with viewers.
